HISTORY:
The municipality of jabonga was established in 1853 by a
group of missionaries sebt by Father Saturnino Urios.Jabonga minicipality is
the third municipality of Agusan Del Norte.It is just one riding of bus if you
start in butuan City then you will stop at the Bangonay terminal station then ride a motorcycle to reach the place
where the center of the municipality you dont have tp worry because the people

CANOEING
Lake mainit is situated
80 ft above sea level with the depth of 128 meter.It has 17, 430
hectares that covers the part of Agusan del Norte province that includes the
municipalities of Jabonga, Kitcharao and Santiago and covers also the Surigao
del Norte includes the municipalities of Mainit, Alegria and Sison, Lake Mainit
is known for its Pidjanga, Gabot, Banak, Haw-an, Igi and kasili and uts habitat to some endangered
Philippine flora and fauna.Migratory birds from Russia and Japan and native
flowers –pagosi and tabukali are its unique attractions.
FALLS
LAMBINGAN FALLS . The
falls is located at Barangay San Jose. Its height is approximately 5 meters
with fast flowing waters cascading on it. As its name suggests, it is a great
place for romantic escapades. If you want to develop, intensify your
relationships with your special someone or want to restore, renew broken
relationship, this is the best place to go.
Mayugda Falls,. You can see this three-layer waterfall with
an approximate measurement of 2 meters along the road of Purok 1 Poblacion
Jabonga.Its is nice and very attractive fall and for picture taking.
Parks
Top Ridge Trekking and Camping Site, Jabonga. The Top Ridge
is a free land to go for trekking. When you’re on top of it especially on clear
day you can see Camiguin Island on one side and the Lake Mainit on the other
side. Dinarawan Trail trekking is a five-hour breathtaking experience passing
two waterfalls.
RIVER:
Kalinawan River, Jabonga. This 29.1 km. of pristine and
picturesque river is the only outlet of Lake Mainit. It passes through the
Municipality of Jabonga, Santiago and Tubay before it finally empties into
Butuan Bay. In history, it is one of the oldest trading and missionary routes
in the Philippines. Its past (part of Old Kingdom of Butuan), even predates
written Philippine History. The river is a fishing ground to the Mamanwa Tribe.
SCUBA DIVING
Jabonga Reef and Looc Point Dive Site, these are the dive
site you can enjoy scuba diving Jabonga has 6 total dive site but these two are
most common and easy to locate Jabonga
reef is locate at Poblacion of San Vicente and the looc point is on Macdagooc
one of the barangay of Jabonga .this dive site has 45 to 200 feet. Fish life is
bountiful in these diving sites. People who are really fond of scuba diving
will really find these dive sites thrilling, fascinating and amazing.
CAVE
Libas Cave, Jabonga. For novice cavers, Libas Cave is a good
cave to start. It is situated 1 km. away from the national highway of Barangay
Libas going to Sitio San Roque. Libas Cave is a dry cave with stalactites and
stalagmites inside. You can find no plants there but wildlife like bats, crabs,
spiders, cockroaches and worms abound the place.
MOUNTAINEERING
MABAHO MOUNTAIN
One of the mountains encircling Lake Mainit is the 1,850
meter high Mabaho, which is one of the tallest peaks in Caraga. Moreover, it is
in this elevated region that Caraga’s endemic species (the Philippine Eagle
among them) can be found. it is relaxing when reach the pick.It breathed taking
